Detoxification and Digestive Health
What is a Detox?
Detoxification is a natural metabolic process your body undertakes every day to help eliminate the environmental, dietary and internally created toxins we are exposed to every day. This process changes toxins into less harmful substances which are subsequently excreted from the body. Toxins are an unavoidable part of life. They are in the air we breathe, the food we eat, and are even created from chemical reactions in our bodies. The good news is that our bodies are designed to neutralise these toxins and remove them via key elimination channels including our digestive system, liver, kidneys and skin. The bad news is that sometimes this process doesn’t run smoothly, with our body’s cleansing pathways overburdened and subsequently underperforming. When this happens, our bodies send out warning signals that all is not well, making you feel tired, sluggish and rundown, and sometimes predisposing you to becoming sick. Consequently, supporting healthy detoxification is a cornerstone of contemporary and traditional medicine practice and may be the turning point to getting your health back on track.
A natural detox program can be one of the most effective strategies for rapidly improving the state of your health as it will help clear toxins out of your body and leave you feeling healthy and energetic. Detoxification is a serious business however and your safety and comfort during detox is important. For this reason, it is best to avoid any detox packages that may come in a box from your local health food shop or pharmacy –these types of detoxes may not be suited to your individual needs and may actually leave you feeling sick and tired. You should not attempt to do a detox without guidance and support from a trained Healthcare Provider. The ultimate goal of a Practitioner guided detoxification program is to provide you with a personalised approach that is safe and effective, which also enables you to achieve the best possible outcomes.
What will my detox program involve?
Your Practitioner guided detoxification program will be tailored to your individual needs, taking into consideration your symptoms, health history and any other influencing factors. The program will include carefully selected nutritional and herbal formulas, together with dietary and lifestyle guidelines to enhance your detox efforts, and help you achieve great results. These dietary and lifestyle tips will help you learn how to decrease your toxin burden over the long term and may focus on one of the following health goals:
A Health Reset - A foundational, comprehensive detox program may be recommended for individuals in need of a “wiping the slate clean” and returning to an ideal state of health. A program such as this will enable you to get you back to a healthy baseline and minimise the broad range of symptoms you might be suffering from. This program will typically be recommended for four weeks and offers a detox solution for those who want to return to wellness and live the healthiest life possible. It is also suitable as a regular “spring clean” detox or for those who have recently overindulged and are eager to get their energy back; such as following the New Year period or after a decadent holiday.
For gut symptoms or to eliminate pathogens - While the foundational support provided in a detox program is designed to “reset” your health and will support digestion; there may be some additional recommendations for those with ongoing or extreme gastrointestinal symptoms. As the gut is “the seat of health” and has a strong influence over all aspects of wellbeing, a program such as this is often recommended for managing non-digestive related symptoms as well. Depending on the intensity of your symptoms, this program will likely be recommended for four to six weeks in duration.
For Liver support or chemical clearance - Similarly, the foundational support provided in a detox designed to “reset” your health will optimise liver detoxification; however, some individuals may experience a much higher chemical exposure than others due to their lifestyle habits or living or working circumstances. As such, additional liver support for chemical clearance and heavy metal chelation may be required. Again, depending on the intensity of your symptoms, this program will likely be recommended for four to six weeks in duration.
All programs focus on whole fresh foods and supplements that support your body’s natural detoxification processes. These are NOT extreme detox programs involving fasting, colon cleansing or eating weird foods. They are based on a common sense approach that is safe and simple to follow long term.

Food Allergy and Intolerance Testing
Are the foods you eat making you sick?
An adverse food reaction is any symptom following the intake of food. The symptom may be any perceptible change in how we feel and/or function.
A food allergy is an immune reaction to food proteins. Allergic symptoms are the direct result of antibodies produced by our immune system against each specific allergen.
Unbalanced or inadequate diets, stress, genetic predisposition, infections and inflammation, chemicals, drugs, environmental pollutants and toxins are all possible contributing factors in the development of allergies. Research has shown that these factors may weaken both digestion as well as the protective defences in our intestinal tract and lungs allowing for allergens to more easily confront our overwhelmed immune system.
Possible disorders associated with food allergy and intolerance:
Skin - Dermatitis, itchy skin
Digestive System - Coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhoea
Respiratory System - Hayfever, asthma and chronic cough
Urinary System – Incontinence (especially at night)
Cognitive & psychological - Behavioural disorders, migraines, autism, chronic fatigue and epilepsy
Head & neck - chronic ear infections,
Muscles & joints - Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis
What can I do?
A simple blood test performed in the clinic or collection centre can identify elevated antibodies.
96 foods covering all food groups including Dairy, Fish, Meat/Fowl, vegetables, grains/legumes/nuts and other items such as honey and yeast. Vegetarian and Asian Food panels are also available.
Healthy Ageing and Wellness

What is Healthy Ageing and Wellness?
Staying healthy active and well, for as long as possible.
Maintaining healthy blood pressure and cholesterol
A healthy heart
Healthy brain function
Prevent metabolic syndrome
Management of menopause and andropause
Ageing in itself, is not a disease, it is a natural part of life. The ageing process in our bodies continues throughout our lives and over time, increases the chances of suffering from degenerative conditions. Ageing can lead to a reduction in our physical and mental functioning and contribute to the onset of chronic disease. Adopting a healthy ageing lifestyle can help slow the pace of accelerated ageing, so that you live a long, healthy and happy life.
A healthy ageing lifestyle requires optimal nutrition through a healthy diet and lifestyle. It is the insurance you need to keep you healthy and vital for years to come. Subtle changes to your health can be identified and addressed using natural options before chronic symptoms have time to manifest.
Wherever you are on the journey of life, there are opportunities to slow down the ageing process. You can take preventative measure to reduce your risk of premature ageing and fight degenerative diseases.
Metabolic Syndrome
Metabolic syndrome is now recognized to be a leading risk factor driving some of the most serious diseases in modern society. How do you know if you have metabolic syndrome? You may have been diagnosed with some of the following:
High blood pressure
Diabetes or “pre diabetes” (at risk for diabetes)
High Triglycerides
Low “good” HDL Cholesterol
Carrying extra weight around your waist or a “beer gut”
Family history of diabetes, heart disease or stroke
Hormonal Health For Women
It is estimated that as many as 90% of women of reproductive age experience a menstrual and/or hormonal disorder that affects them on a regular basis. This includes conditions such as painful periods (dysmenorrhea), heavy periods (menorrhagia), endometriosis, uterine fibroids and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Many women seek out natural solutions for the management of these conditions, and many find complementary approaches extremely effective. Restoring balance, health and vitality to all of our body systems, including our hormonal and reproductive system, can be achieved through appropriate dietary and lifestyle changes, as well as through the use of specialised natural supplements.
Natural solutions for:
PMS
Menstrual irregularities
Painful periods
Endometriosis
PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome)
Fibroids
Thyroid disorders

Hormonal Health For Men
Natural solutions for:
Decreased libido
Impotence
Depression
Stress and adrenal health
Andropause
Also, known as androgen deficiency of the ageing male (ADAM) or male menopause that relates to a decrease in testosterone and DHEA in middle aged men. The consequences of lowered hormone levels are associated with:
Loss of libido
Impotence
Nervousness
Depression
Irritability
Decreased muscle mass and strength
Impaired memory and difficult concentration
Fatigue
Insomnia
Hot flushes
Sweating
These changes can start at around 35 years of age which is called premature andropause and can occur in men who experience excessive female hormone stimulation through workplace exposure to estrogens. Men who work in the pharmaceutical industry, plastics factories, near incinerators and on farms that use pesticides are at high risk for early andropause.
Other risk factors are:
Age
Hypothyroidism
Adrenal insufficiency
Stress
Toxicity (pesticides, smoking, alcohol, heavy metals)
Insulin resistance
Reflexology
Reflexology is a unique system of foot massage based on holistic principles and springing from the same Chinese roots as acupuncture. By locating and massaging the reflexology points on the foot, which relate to the different parts of the body, imbalance of energy which cause stress and ill health can be addressed. The art of reflexology must not be confused with basic foot massage or body massage in general. It is a specific pressure technique that works on precise reflex points on the feet. Reflexology can be used on just about anyone – the elderly, women, men, teenagers, children and babies.
Reflexology is also used during pregnancy to alleviate swelling in the feet and can help common symptoms associated with pregnancy like nausea, back pain, cramps, indigestion and insomnia. It is of great benefit for women going through IVF to help reduce stress and discomfort.
Testing available through The Clinic
At your initial consultation Rebecca will more than likely refer for more testing so she can investigate where your problems may be coming
from. This will involve blood and urine testing. Some of these tests can be done through your GP however Rebecca may refer you directly.
Tests may involve:
Urinary pH – this test detects subtle changes to the pH of the body which can have substantial impacts on a arrange of health conditions including stress, bone density, pain, muscle mass and hormonal balance. This test is complimentary and done during consultation.
Full hormone profile – blood and/or saliva – hormones play such an important role in maintaining health and the determination of hormone levels can help identify many healthy related conditions. In both men and women adequate levels are necessary for optimal health and wellbeing.
Osteoporosis Risk assessment
Heavy metal testing – Hair, water and urine – Just a few grams of your hair can be analysed to find out if element imbalances or toxicity may be the root cause of your health problems. Hair analysis is an accurate, low cost and non-invasive method of determining your body’s level of toxic burden as well as mineral imbalance. This test provides information regarding recent and ongoing exposure to potentially toxic metals. Toxic elements may be 200-300 times more highly concentrated in hair than in blood or urine. Therefore, hair is the tissue of choice for detection of recent exposure to elements such as Arsenic, Aluminium, Cadmium, Lead, Antimony and Mercury. Hair Tissue Mineral analysis (HTMA) is regarded by many doctors and naturopaths as one of the most valuable screening tools available in everyday and preventative health care.
Coeliac testing
Stool analysis (Complete digestive stool analysis CDSA)- this provides an overview of the components of digestion, absorption, intestinal function and microbial flora as well as identifying pathogenic bacteria, parasites and yeasts. The CDSA is a non invasive test providing invaluable information in terms of understanding the role of poor digestive function in disease states. Symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, bloating, abdominal discomfort and bad breath are all indicative of poor gut function.
Other tests available:
MTHFR
Pyrrole Disorder (Mauve factor)
SIBO (Small Intestinal Bowel Overgrowth)
Histamine Intolerence
Stress hormones - Cortisol and DHEA
Sperm Analysis
